Bush Commutes Border Agents Sentence
In one of his last acts as President, Bush commuted former border agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos. The two were convicted about two years ago for shooting a drug smuggler in the ass. Instead of serving a combined sentence of around ten years, both will be out of prison in March. Though I personally feel both should never have been charged at all, at least our government did the right thing by getting them out of prison sooner than later. Hopefully this injustice to our border agents will bring to the surface the need to adjust the law to protect those serving our country instead of helping those that are trying to destroy it.
