Barak Obama: The Next American President or Next American Rock Star

Barak Obama is making history, I give him that. I believe him to be a good role model especially for young African American boys. He has proven that if you work hard, stay in school, and don’t get roped into drugs and gangs you can do anything you want such as running for President of the United States. His ability to appeal to the masses with his uplifting speaking ability and rhetoric has definitely taken the country and mass media by storm. The crowds standing and cheering before him resemble that of huge rock concerts performed by Kiss, The Rolling Stones and the like. But sadly, in my opinion, that’s were it ends. I do not see Barak as our next President and here’s why. He has not stepped up to challenge McCain in a presidential manner. When McCain issued invites to do a series of Town Hall Meetings Obama declined. Why? What was he afraid of? If he is to be President, he needs to show that he can get into the face of his opponents and not back down from a fight. He must prove he can get the job done without the mass media’s help. Then there were all those little sly comments being made such as not looking like the pictures on dollar bills. With his witty and attractive speech making abilities why did he have to stoop to such a level? The point I’m trying to make is that I haven’t seen anything presidential about Barak and time is ticking. Unless he starts showing me that he can be President instead of a glorified performer, it looks like I’m voting Republican…again.
